Maryland’s Illegal Immigrant Drivers – The Enablers Have Bloody Hands Too

The horrifying Thanksgiving Day 2006 killing by a drunken driver of two Maryland citizens, Cpl. Brian Matthews of Columbia and Jennifer Bower of Montgomery Village , made national headlines. Cpl. Matthews, an Iraqi war hero and Ms. Bower, a graduate of Hood College , were victims of Eduardo Raul Morales-Soriano, an illegal immigrant from Mexico who has had previous run-ins with the law.

Yet thanks to the help of taxpayer subsidized organizations like CASA of Maryland and a long list of Maryland Senate and House legislators, criminals like Morales-Soriano are able to obtain driver’s licenses, as well as live and work in the great State of Maryland . Forty-three states in America require serious proof of citizenship to obtain the privilege of a license. Maryland and six other states do not.

Despite the carnage on our roads, Maryland legislators like Del. Ana Sol Gutierrez (D-Dist 18), Del. Joseph Vallario (D-Dist 27A), Del. Jane Lawton (D-Dist 18) and even newly elected Saqib Ali (D-Dist 39) seemingly have no problem granting licenses to persons who should not even be in Maryland, let alone behind the wheel of a car. Morales-Soriano did not have the only set of hands on the bloody steering wheel.

Now CASA’s Executive Director, Gustavo Torres, a ranking member of Governor Martin O’Malley’s transition team wants to take matters a step further for his illegal immigrant clientele. CASA is promoting two separate Maryland IDs at tremendous cost to the taxpayers to circumvent the Federal REAL ID Act requirements triggered in 2008. CASA wants to keep the current porous license system in place so illegal immigrants, which surely includes MS-13 gang members, can continue to do harm to our citizens on their way “to and from work”. A separate form of identification would be created for us legal residents to comply with the REAL ID. “We think that’s the most sound economic and structural solution” said Kim Propeack, CASA’s advocacy director.

I don’t think so Kim and neither do countless other law-abiding Maryland citizens. Had enough of this pandering nonsense? Join us at Help Save Maryland as we put an end to this lawlessness. Let’s stop those shameless Maryland elected officials from wasting our precious tax dollars. Go to www.HelpSaveMaryland.com and see how you can help keep illegal aliens off our roadways! Wake Up Maryland !

Everyone concerned about this issue needs to contact his or her state senator and ask him or her to support SB 184, the bill that would bring Maryland into compliance with the federal REAL ID Act and stop Maryland from issuing drivers' licenses to illegal aliens.

The following Senators are sponsors of the bill, and need to be thanked and encouraged to resist letting it get watered down:

Larry Haines- District 5 (Carroll and Baltimore Counties)
Nancy Jacobs- District 34 (Harford and Cecil Counties)
Norman Stone- District 6 (Baltimore County)
Alex Mooney- District 3 (Frederick County)
Bryan Simonaire- District 31 (Anne Arundel County)

The following Senators are on the Judicial Committee and need to support the bill so it can go to the floor for a vote. If one of these is YOUR Senator, it is CRUCIAL you call or visit about this!

Chairman Brian Frosh- District 16 (Montgomery) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3124 (toll free)
Vice-Chair Lisa Gladden- District 41 (Baltimore City) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3697 (toll free)
Jennie Forehand- District 17 (Montgomery) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3134 (toll free)
James Brochin- District 42 (Baltimore County) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3648 (toll free)
C. Anthony Muse- District 26 (Prince George’s) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3092 (toll free)
Jamie Raskin- District 20 (Montgomery) 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3634 (toll free)

To find out who represents you, go to www.mdelect.net and enter your address and city or zip code. The site searches and will display your representatives on the left.

Marylanders, we need to blast our Governor, and state legislative reps. on the welcome mat thrown out to illegals. Maryland is becoming a santuary state! We need to make our voices heard like we did when we defeated the latest amnesty push by the Senate. Let's not stand by and watch our state become like California. With continous budget deficits, rising crime, low test scores in schools, almost 100 hospitals closed, Doctors leaving CA, due to decrease in the quality of life. Overcrowding in hospitals, schools, roadways, loss of habitat due to huge increase in illegal population. How can we tell who is eligible to vote if these illegals have drivers licenses? Are IA for illegal aliens noted on the licenses? We need to take our state back for the citizens. It's up to states to do the right thing since our leaders in Congress refuse to listen to voters who elected them!
