Contractors working with Baltimore County could soon be required to verify the immigration status of their employees or risk losing county business.The County Council enacted a resolution Monday, by a unanimous vote of the six members that were present. The resolution urges County Executive James T. Smith Jr. to ensure contractors vet new hires with the federal E-Verify program. The free, online system, operated by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration, allows an employer to compare details from a new hire's employment eligibility form with information from more than 500 million federal records."Basically this has the teeth of a law," said John E. Beverungen, county attorney.
"But in this case, the text says 'request.' It looks like at the minimum this will start the discussion."Several area construction unions had urged officials to take the action, which they said would save their members' jobs.The resolution was drafted to "make sure we are not taking jobs away from those who should have them," said Council Chairman John Olszewski, who co-sponsored the measure with Councilman Kenneth N. Oliver.Those businesses that knowingly hire undocumented migrant workers could lose their contracts as well as the ability to bid on future work.Representatives of Casa de Maryland, an immigrants advocacy group, and the ACLU questioned the accuracy of E-Verify and asked council members to review several reports on it. "While I respect the desire to ensure the lawful ability to work in the U.S., I disagree with the means to do so," said Ajmel Quereshi, an attorney for the ACLU.

ANNAPOLIS, MD. (AP) --- The head of Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration says there was a 20 percent reduction in the number of new driver's licenses issued in the seven months after a law took effect that requires first-time applicants to prove they are in the country legally. Motor Vehicle Administration chief John Kuo says it is too early to tell how much of a decrease stems from the new state policy, which began June 1. State lawmakers approved the change in the final hours of last year's legislative session after much debate.

Its imperative that--YOU--don't let your state fall into the same financial quagmire, as the illegal alien SANCTUARY STATE OF CALIFORNIA. E-Verify, the foreign labor removal system has been ignored by the Sacramento assembly, because they have been overwhelmed by corporate lobbyists. The payoff is large campaign contributions and likely undisclosed cash gifts. This is why California has been in political turmoil for years, unable to pass any worthwhile legislations. California is America's largest population of illegal immigrants, and likely illegal voters as there is no true ID oversight to who votes? California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. NumbersUSA website indicates 43 percent of all illegal aliens live in California as of 2006. According to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (CIS), an estimated 2,209,000 illegal immigrants resided in California in 2000, up from 1,476,000 in 1990. More than 66% of all births in California are to illegal aliens from South of the border on Medi-Cal and CalWorks. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes.

Unless we are willing to drive to the border and observe the fencing, the American Public will remain completely ignorant.

As I have mentioned before, that the 187 law was intentionally engineered to terminate its course, to the highest court in the land where its constitutionality could have been proved.
Since then, state and local liberal majority assembly have blatantly ignored the wishes of the angry voters and continued to shell out publicly financed benefits on illegal families. The costs of illegal immigration have grown demographically across this nation, while border states has spiraled into a fiscal catastrophe that has brought many to the edge of bankruptcy. Nothing could more starkly illustrate the very high costs of ‘cheap labor' than the SANCTUARY STATE of California's current unresolved situation. Numerous numbers of powerful special interests in the state reap profits, while the average indigenous-born family in California gets handed a nearly $2.000 a year bill with more to come?

As a matter fact my neighbor told me that the MVA regularly registers illegals to vote that have been able to secure drivers licenses through phony social security numbers and addresses. I was shocked to read that Maryland does not require E-Verify or identification to obtain a drivers license and was also shocked to hear a poll worker tell me at the last primary election that they do not require identification to vote anymore! So we now know that our U.S. elections are influenced by non-American voters. How is the integrity of the election protected if no identification is required? I refuse to vote anymore. Obama wants to make America a huge multi-national shopping mall and it nauseates me. He has removed all of our borders, physically as well as constitutionally, and we just sit by and watch. Immigration and illegal aliens are two completely different things. Don't EVER equate illegals with immigrants.
