Letter to US Attorney Jonny Sutton Regarding BP Agents Ramos and Compean

Mr. Johnny Sutton
United States Attorney
Western District of Texas
601 N.W. Loop 410, Suite 600
San Antonio, TX 78216

Dear Mr. Sutton:

I am writing to express my shock and displeasure with your handling of the Federal Government’s cases against Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean and Deputy Sheriff Hernandez. As a tax-paying, voting citizen I am strongly opposed to your wasting government time and resources to prosecute U.S. Border Patrol and law enforcement officials rather than Mexican drug smugglers and lawbreaking illegal aliens.

I have taken the time to review your website and other resources regarding these two cases and an quite angry that the Attorney’s office provided immunity and medical care to the drug dealer and illegal aliens in exchange for their questionable testimony and evidence. Why is your prosecution team taking actions that seeming support Mexican drug and illegal alien cartels, and the corrupt Government of Mexico? I believe your actions violate government ethic laws and other regulations, and frankly lack good common sense.

Border Patrol and other law enforcement officials like Ramos, Compean and Hernandez, risk their lives everyday for the American people. They should be given our respect and support. Instead, politically appointed hacks like you are sending a message that if you aggressively do your job to stem the tidal wave of drugs and illegal aliens from Mexico you will be vigorously prosecuted by the federal government. This is very wrong and needs to be corrected immediately.

U.S. Attorney Sutton, as a first step, it’s very appropriate for you to resign from your position. Let the President appoint someone who will stand for America and the law rather than drug dealers, illegal aliens and the Government of Mexico. A pardon by President Bush for the three men will then bring successful closure to your misguided actions.

Respectfully,

Brad Botwin
